Adjoa Bayor appointed Ghana women national teams coordinator

The Ghana Football Association has appointed former International Adjoa Bayor as coordinator for the four female national teams namely; the Black Queens, Black Princesses, Black Maidens, and the Black Damsels.

The 41-year-old who played at the 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup in the USA is expected to bring her experience to bear in her new role.
The former captain of the Black Queens won the African Women footballer of the year in 2003. She was part of the Black Queens team at the 1999 FIFA Women’s World Cup in the United States.

She was also a member of the World All-Stars team to play against the China women’s national football team in April 2007 at Wuhan, China.

She has played for Ghatel Ladies in Accra, Ghana, and has also played for FC Indiana in the United States before joining FF USV Jena in 2009 to FF USV

Adjoa Bayor, a former player of Ghatel Ladies played abroad for six years before returning home to continue her career with Premier League side Immigration Ladies.

She joins former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah and Michael Tawiah Attoh who have been working as coordinators for the national teams.

Adjoa Bayor will work in the national team department headed by Deputy General Secretary Alex Asante. Their mandate is to facilitate training programs, preparation for matches and competitions, and other activities of the national teams.

She was subsequently shortlisted for the best female African player for 2010 which she eventually won beating the likely favorite, Perpetual Nkwocha. She was selected in 2018 by CAF to assist Deputy Secretary in football and development Anthony Baffoe to conduct the draw for the Africa Women Cup of Nations.
