Ghanaian music legend Ebo Taylor has just released a brand-new single titled “Obi Do Woa,” offering fans a taste of his highly anticipated album Jazz Is Dead 021, set to drop in October. The legendary highlife pioneer, now 89, shows no signs of slowing down, recently captivating audiences with performances at the We Out Here Festival and Hootananny in Brixton, UK, as well as Festivalle in Sicily. “Obi Do Woa” was recorded at the renowned Linear Labs studio in Los Angeles, with contributions from members of the Ebo Taylor Family band from Ghana. The project, spearheaded by acclaimed producers Adrian Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad, is part of the Jazz Is Dead series—a movement dedicated to celebrating the legacies of musical icons through live performances, visual media, and new analog recordings.
