Fatman Scoop, Hip-Hop Legend, Tragically Passes Away.

Fatman Scoop, whose real name was Isaac Freeman III, tragically passed away at the age of 53 on Friday, August 30, 2024, after collapsing on stage during a concert in Connecticut.

He was halfway through his set at the Town Center Park in the city of Hamden when he collapsed on stage.

Mayor Lauren Garrett said in a post to Facebook that the rapper was taken to a local hospital by ambulance.

But his booking agency, MN2S, confirmed his death in a statement to the BBC, saying the New York native’s “legacy will live on through his timeless music”.

His death sent shockwaves through the hip-hop community and beyond, as he was a beloved and influential figure in the music industry.

Born in New York City, Scoop began his career in the 1990s as a DJ and hype man for various artists. His energetic stage presence and infectious enthusiasm quickly gained him recognition, and he eventually established himself as a solo artist.
