Konkarah JahVybz Calls for Reggae Revival in Ghana.

Ghanaian reggae and dancehall artist, Konkarah JahVybz, is championing a renewed appreciation for the genre in his home country. At the launch of his new album, From Afar, he urged media outlets and industry gatekeepers to increase their focus on reggae, highlighting its significance and potential within the local music scene.

Dismissing the notion that reggae and dancehall are waning in popularity in Ghana, Konkarah asserted that the genre is far from moribund. He emphasized the need for stakeholders to actively promote reggae, showcasing its vibrant talents and rich cultural heritage. His sentiments were echoed by renowned musician Samini and veteran industry figure Daddy Bosco, who both attended the event and expressed their unwavering support for the genre.

From Afar, Konkarah’s latest musical endeavor, is a 15-track project that delves into a diverse range of themes, including consciousness, repatriation, lovers’ rock, and sound system culture. The album seamlessly blends elements of Afrobeats, Amapiano, hip-hop, RnB, dancehall, and reggae roots, demonstrating Konkarah’s versatility and his desire to appeal to a broad audience.

The album features collaborations with prominent artists such as Anthony B, Suezway, Osagyefo, Topgyal Renner, Ras Charmer, and others, further enriching its sonic tapestry. Released on July 26th, From Afar is available on all major music platforms for streaming and download.

To complement the album’s release, Konkarah has also unveiled a series of music videos, starting with the title track “From Afar.” The launch event was a resounding success, drawing a significant crowd that included media personality PY Addo Boateng, musician Topgyal Renner, Osagyefo, and various other industry figures.
