Mavin Records announces new artiste Magixx

Multiple award-winning Nigerian record producer, Michael Collins Ajereh is also known as Don Jazzy has signed a new artiste, Magixx, into his Mavin Records label.

Don Jazzy broke the good news on his social media including Instagram and Twitter.

He wrote: “The most exciting times at Mavin is when an artist is getting activated from the Mavin Academy. Today Is one of those days.

“We are super proud and excited to introduce to you MAGIXX. Super young talented versatile vocalist/Songwriter. One of UNILAG’s finest. At Midnight we will listen to his New Debut EP.”

In the label tradition, the new artist, whose real name is Adelade Alexander Adewunmi, drops a self-titled EP Magixx, while announcing himself on his Instagram page as a member of the Mavin family.

He said: “I am super proud and happy for this day, this moment, this time! One I have been waiting for all my life!

“it’s finally here and it’s beautiful! But more beautiful because I am here to take you on a journey of love and passion.

“Before we start, I would like to say a big thank you to my Daddy @donjazzy for believing so much in me, and equipping me with the tools to navigate properly on this beautiful journey we are about to embark on.”

 

Magixx or Adewunmi is from the Department of Mass Communication, University of Lagos. He was born in Ogba Lagos.He went to a secondary school, where he learnt how to play three musical instruments, the trumpet, mouth organ and flute.

Magixx was a member of his church’s choir. He made a solo recording of his first song in 2013.

Don Jazzy co-founded the now-defunct record label Mo’ Hits Records in 2004 with his former business partner, Oladapo Oyebanji a.k.a D’banj.

Following its closure, he established Mavin Records on 8 May 2012.

Mavin had produced artists such as Tiwa Savage, Reekado Banks.

It is currently home to Korede Bello, Dr SID, D’Prince, Di’Ja, Johnny Drille, Ladipoe, DNA Twins, Rema, Ayra Starr, 6xSlatt, Crayon, and a host of others.
