“Rich Homie Quan: Atlanta Rapper Who Redefined Southern Hip-Hop with His Unique Melodic Flow, Dies at 34.

Rich Homie Quan, born Dequantes Lamar, is an Atlanta-based rapper known for his melodic style and blending of rap with elements of R&B. He gained significant attention in the early 2010s with hits like “Type of Way” and collaborations with artists like Young Thug and Birdman. He was also a member of the Rich Gang collective, which further boosted his career.

Quan, the Atlanta rapper best known for hits like “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)” and “Type of Way,” has tragically passed away at the age of 34 on September 5, 2024. He was found dead in his home in Atlanta, though the exact cause of death remains unclear pending an autopsy. There are speculations of a potential drug overdose, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

He first rose to fame in 2013 with his breakout track “Type of Way.” He continued to enjoy success with collaborations alongside artists like YG, Young Thug, and Tyga. Throughout his career, he became known for his melodic trap sound and contributions to the Rich Gang collective. He leaves behind four children, and the music world is mourning his sudden loss.
