S16 Film Festival returns for 4th edition in December.

The S16 Film Festival is set to return for its fourth edition from December 5 to December 8, 2024, featuring a celebration of African cinema through film screenings, panel discussions, and thematic festivities.

This festival, which is inspired by the Dogme 95 movement and organized by the Surreal 16 Collective, aims to spotlight the creativity of emerging filmmakers while challenging established narratives in the Nigerian film industry. Notably, previous editions have showcased both short and feature-length films from various African nations, promoting cultural storytelling and creativity.

The S16 Film Festival will take place from December 5 to December 8, 2024, in Lagos.
Organizers aim to spotlight exceptional filmmakers and independent films through this annual celebration of African art.
The festival includes four days of film screenings, panel sessions, and themed parties, enhancing community engagement.
Founded by CJ Obasi, Abba T. Makama, and Michael Omonua, the festival draws inspiration from the Dogme 95 movement to innovate Nigerian cinema.

The first edition in 2021 showcased 10 short films and the feature film Juju Stories.
The second edition featured a total of 14 films from different African countries, highlighting regional diversity in storytelling.
