Tokunbo: A Thrilling New Film from Ramsey Noah.

Lagos, Nigeria – Award-winning actor Ramsey Noah has unveiled his latest cinematic masterpiece, Tokunbo. The gripping thriller premiered to a star-studded audience on Sunday, August 19, 2024, and was proudly sponsored by Amstel Malta.

Gideon Okeke takes center stage in the lead role, delivering a powerful performance alongside a stellar cast that includes Chidi Mokeme, Adunni Ade, Ivie Okujaiye, Funlola Aofiyebi, Funny Bone, Majid Michael, Tosin Adeyemi, and Darasimi Nadi. Noah himself serves as the film’s director, while Chris Odey takes on the role of producer and Joy Odete acts as executive producer and co-producer.

Mohammed Ata’s cinematography adds depth and visual intrigue to the film, which tells the story of Tokunbo, a rugged Lagos native trying to escape his past in car smuggling and build a better life for his family. Faced with the daunting task of raising funds for his one-year-old child’s life-saving surgery, Tokunbo reluctantly accepts a dangerous proposition from Agba, a prominent cryptocurrency trader and deputy central bank governor.

Agba offers Tokunbo a chance to solve all his financial problems in exchange for one job: delivering Nike, the abducted 12-year-old daughter of the CBN Governor, to the Badagry border within three hours. With the entire city on lockdown following Nike’s abduction, Tokunbo must navigate a perilous web of crime to complete the mission.

Caught between his love for his wife and child and the immense pressure to save Nike, Tokunbo faces an impossible dilemma. The film explores themes of loyalty, sacrifice, and the consequences of one’s past.
