The National Film Authority has secured a partnership with MAJID AL FUTTAIM CINEMAS LLC (Vox Cinemas) to market and distribute Ghanaian films in the Middle East / Northern Africa (MENA) Region.
According to the NFA, as part of the deal, Ghana will be premiering three of its films in the Vox Cinemas, making the country the first African country to achieve this milestone. The three (3) movies include; “Single Not Searching’,” which stars Nikki Samonas, Eddie Watson, Sika Osei, “Borgar” and “Terminus,” starring Adjetey Annan, Salma Mumin and Beverly Afaglo.
The Authority, in a statement, expressed their excitement, “NFA is excited to announce this opportunity in the coming weeks as this is the very first time Vox Cinemas will be distributing and exhibiting films from any African country.” Ghana is the first to secure this deal for three (3) Ghanaian films to open the doors for the sector to bring in the needed revenue and employment. “
Vox Cinemas is the largest film distribution and Exhibition Company based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and as part of the agreement, will be distributing Ghanaian films in various territories including UAE, Qatar, Jordan, Iraq, Egypt, Lebanon, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia.
