The month of April brought us some amazing heat from the camp of our favourite Ghanaian artists, from established superstars to emerging talents. As always, we bring all of that brand-new heat right to your doorstep. Check out our picks of the best Ghana music you can lay your hands (and ears) on below.

KiDi “I Lied”

Ghanaian singer KiDi came through with his first release of the year. The song is called “I Lied”, and this time we get a different version of the Afropop star. “I Lied” is a ballad that explores themes of pain and sadness, resulting in an emotional, melancholy affair.

Stonebwoy “Life & Money” ft. Stormzy

Last Friday reggae and dancehall icon Stonebwoy outdoored his fifth studio album 5th Dimension. It’s a star-studded 17-track compilation, but one of the standout cuts off the project is this one titled “Life & Money.” Here, he teamed up with British rapper Stormzy and together the duo delve into a dialogue on, as the name suggests: life and money.

Gyakie “SCAR” ft. JBEE

Sony Music act Gyakie also came through with her first release of the year. She calls this one “Scar,” and it’s an emotive fusion of drill with R&B elements. Here she collaborated with rising North London rapper JBee, who laced the joint with a formidable rap verse.

E.L “Chop Life”

Ghanaian rapper E.L is primed and ready for a brand new run, and he launches it with this single called “Chop Life.” This is a hip-hop tune that incorporates elements of UK grime, pop rap, and alternative hip-hop, and apart from being E.L’s first release after a brief hiatus, “Chop Life” also marks E.L’s first release since announcing his partnership with global music distribution company ONErpm.

Reggie “Oh Ma Linda” ft. O’Kenneth, Jay Bahd, & Kwaku DMC

The Asakaa boys are out with a new one! Front lined by rapper Reggie, the Asakaa crew dish out this one called “Oh Ma Linda.” Here Reggie, O’Kenneth, Jay Bahd, and Kwaku DMC all come correct, and the outcome is a fresh street banger from the Kumerican icons.

Medikal “God Abeg” ft. Kwesi Arthur, Joey B & Kay T

Ghanaian rapper Medikal came out with a new single as well. Here, he teamed up with fellow rap heavyweights Joey B, Kwesi Arthur, and Kay T for his latest release “God Abeg.” The star rappers all show out on their verses, producing a bonafide hip-hop anthem.

Silly Nigga – Single by Kofee Bean

Kofee Bean is an emerging alternative and neo-soul singer and songwriter from Ghana. On “Silly N*gga,” she uncovers hidden thoughts and feelings about her past relationships, in an effort to awaken a sense of redemption. “Silly N*gga” is a sentient fusion of R&B and hip-hop, and the talented act does the joint absolute justice.

L.A.X “Bounce” ft. Black Sherif

In honorable mentions, Nigerian star singer L.A.X just dropped his latest studio album No Bad Vibes. On the project is “Bounce”, mid-tempo afrobeats cut that houses a guest verse by Ghanaian superstar Black Sherif, the latest on his ongoing stream of electric international appearances.
