Bose Ogulu to receive ‘Manager Of The Year’ Honorary Award In UK

Nigerian music executive Bose Ogulu will receive Manager of the Year at this year’s Artiste & Manager Awards.

Slated for November 17 at the Bloomsbury Big Top in London, UK, Ogulu, who is the co-founder of the Spaceship Collective and the mother and manager of Grammy awards-winning Afro-fusion star Burna Boy, will be honoured for her “boundary-breaking and artist-led approach to business” which has “helped Burna Boy develop into a genuinely global talent”, according to MMF chief executive Annabella Coldrick.

“Bose’s Spaceship Collective’sethos of empowerment epitomises her positive impact on a new generation of artistes. It is an African success story, but with a major foot in the UK – and we felt it important to recognise the success of such a prominent groundbreaking manager,” Coldrick said

Ogulu is recognized for her pivotal role in contributing to the noteworthy success of Burna Boy’s Twice As Tall, which won best global music album at the 63rd Grammy Awards. She is also widely acknowledged for spearheading initiatives to assist African artists in retaining greater ownership of their works. In 2021, she was named in Billboard’s 2021 International Power Players list.

The Artistes & Managers Awards, organised by the Featured Artists Coalition (FAC) and Music Managers Forum (MMF), spotlight and celebrate creativity and innovation, as well as pathfinding individuals in the music industry.
