On Friday, December 31, 2021, the U.S. Secretary of State gave listeners the opportunity to get a glimpse of Anthony Blinken’s musical tastes with a pair of newly refreshed playlists of his favourite top songs in 2021. “Music has been a constant in my life,” Anthony Blinken said in a statement shared on Twitter. “And as we close the year, I wanted to take a moment to share some of my favourite songs released this year (or recently) by artists from across the globe. No matter where we live, music can inspire us. Hope you enjoy these tunes as much as I have.”

The 36-track playlist dubbed the “Secretary’s 2021 Playlist: On the Road”, features Ghanaian highlife musician, Bisa Kdei’s latest single “Yard”. The song appeared at 15 amongst songs from other notable performing and recording artiste, including Nigeria’s Tems, Dua Lipa, Da Baby, The Weeknd, Adele, Grammy’s youngest reggae and dancehall kid, Koffee, 1Da Banton and more.

The much-awaited party anthem was released October, 2021 and will reportedly feature on his album “Original” album. Bisa Kdei on the new tune fuses a bit Afro-pop with his original Highlife vibes creating an atmosphere of partying that would keep listeners in their dancing mood. The new song is a synchronized masterpiece which music lovers especially lover of Highlife music would appreciate.
